Seeing Jesus Today
Sermon / October 28, 2018

Jesus said, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” Mark 10:46-52 The Gospel according to St. Mark is kind of a road map. In the first chapter, verse 9, Mark tells us that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee. That region is in the Northern part of what is now Israel, near the Sea of Galilee. It was near that sea that Jesus called Simon and his brother Andrew, who were casting fishing nets into the sea. He told them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

All Things are Possible with God
Sermon / October 14, 2018

“Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” This story about the rich young man is common to the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. The young man asks the question which I’m sure was in many people’s mind of the day, “how do I get to heaven?” This young man was very rich, and he must have had a very comfortable life. He is obviously attached to his wealth, and he did not want to share it. The young man calls Jesus, “Good teacher,” to which Jesus gives an odd answer. “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.”
