Forming future disciples and equipping the saints. Our children's Sunday School utilizes a lectionary-based curriculum that ties what our children hear in church to the lesson they're learning in Sunday School. All age groups learn together, with the older children (pre-teens and teenagers who have not started attending Bible Study, yet) helping the younger children with their lessons before receiving theirs.
Pre-K (0 - 5) This age group exclusively plays with Biblical and liturgy inspired toys under adult supervision. Lower Elementary (6 - 8) This age group is very visual and hands-on. They generally start with a storybook version of one of our readings in church, followed by a short discussion and a hands-on activity to drive home the lesson. Bible verse memorization and snacks are included. Upper Elementary (9 - 11) This age group is trending towards less stimulating visuals and more towards hearing the Bible from its source. They still are engaged with hands-on activities to help drive home the lesson, though these activities can be more mentally stimulating than visual. Bible verse memorization and snacks are included. Junior High (12 - 14) This age group is starting to engage more intentionally with the lectionary readings. They engage in deeper discussion, and their activities are geared towards real-life application. Bible verse memorization and snacks are included. Senior High (15 - 17) Our oldest age group is delving much deeper into the lectionary readings through thorough and serious discussion. They have less "activities" to do, though they are given a discussion sheet where they are encouraged to fill in the answers to the things we discuss in class in their own words. Bible verse memorization and snacks are included. Questions? Ask Ashleigh Hensch at 915-929-7526 Sundays, immediately after service (~11:45am)
