Serving at St. John

ACOLYTES: Acolytes perform ceremonial duties including candle lighting, torch bearing, and assisting the deacon in setting up for communion and carrying the processional cross. We encourage anyone 10 years of age or older and all adults who are interested in becoming an altar server to contact either Fr. Munson or Don Young.

ALTAR GUILD: The St. John the Divine Altar Guild includes a devoted group of women who lovingly prepare the altar for Mass each week. The Altar Guild prepares the fair linens, sets up the altar, and assures sufficient supplies are maintained. Any who are interested in serving the Lord through Altar Guild should contact Susan Morris.

DIVINE STITCHES: A group of loving women who share a passion of sewing.  The group provide things such as comfort blankets to the Burkburnett Police Department and to Patsy’s House in Wichita Falls. Any who are interested in serving the Lord through this sewing ministry should contact Susan Morris.

LAY READERS: Men and women who read the Scripture lessons to the congregation prior to the Gospel each Sunday. We encourage all adults who have been confirmed and can demonstrate the ability to read the Word with clear distinction and a strong, reverential voice to contact Fr. Munson.

SIMPLY BLESSED STAMPING: A group of ladies who gather once a month to make beautiful hand-made cards.  These cards are sent to members who are in need of a little bit of sunshine.  Any who are interested in this ministry should contact Laurie Munson.
